Designing your landscape is a personal journey. Marotte Landscape Design can show you how to make it easy & enjoyable! Here's an abbreviated look at what you can expect:
Each project begins with a complimentary (Free!) meeting that allows us to discuss your design objectives and concerns. We take the time during this meeting to get to know you so we produce the results you desire.
Before moving forward with the process, our clients receive a written confirmation signed by both parties that outlines the overall project scope and associated fees.
Using the information gathered from the initial interview, we develop a design solution that meets your needs and showcases your personal style, including a preliminary cost estimate.
We further develop the design solution as needed with more detailed floor plans, lighting plans, elevations and sketches. We also recommend a selection of finishes, materials, furnishings, amenities and lighting that fit into the overall design plan and are priced within your budget.
Our clients have access to a team of the best and most reliable tradesmen, artisans and professionals in the industry. This ensures that the work is completed to the highest standards with the utmost attention to detail and quality. We keep each project on schedule and coordinate with the entire team to ensure that all ordering, delivery and installation is seamless and worry-free.
We want our clients to love their new design, down to the smallest detail, because your satisfaction is our success. We value the trust you put in us and the relationship that develops. We are committed to assist you as your design needs change and evolve.
No, the first meeting is complimentary and is an opportunity for both parties to meet and evaluate the scope of the work, discuss stylistic issues and the many options that may be available.
We have an hourly design fee and a mark-up on any product that can be purchased through the Firm.
The design fee is for design concepts, researching solutions to the problems, and advice on any purchases. When a product is ordered through the Designer, there is a great deal of time spent on sourcing, producing purchase orders, ordering, and managing logistics.
Additionally, time is spent on coordinating deliveries and generally ensuring that the whole process runs smoothly until the item is delivered to the client. The mark-up covers this entire process and assures the clients' peace of mind.
Marotte Landscape Design will ask you questions about how you use the space and what the space needs to do for you and your family. We will create a new functional design to meet the needs of those who will be occupying the space. We will look at functionality within the space and provide alternatives for clients for today and into the future.
All of our installation technicians attend ongoing training through out the year to stay up to date on the latest materials, techniques, and trends in our industry.
Prior to the start of construction on your site, a meeting is held with the project manager, site supervisor and the crew supervisor. At this meeting all of the details of the project are discussed including several key areas such as the schedule, material ordering, logistics and staging of materials, daily start times, and safety concerns for each area.
During this meeting the project manager explains in great detail any issues or concerns the Client has regarding project particulars.
We work as a team to find the best solutions to complete your landscape project with the least amount of impact to your existing landscape and interruption of your daily personal schedule.
A project manager will be assigned to your project from the the very beginning and will remain engaged with your project through out the process.
The project manager will visit the project site several times per week to hold progress meetings with the site supervisor and crew to keep the project on schedule.
After these progress meetings are completed, the project manager will update the client on the progress of the project and the schedule. Update communications can be of any form you would prefer: face-to-face meetings, phone text updates, or email updates. Always remember that the on-site supervisor is always willing to visit with you about your project.
In the event an unforeseen problem is found, the site supervisor will immediately contact the project manager who will review the concern and work with his team to find a cost effective solution to the problem. After a plan has been developed to address the concern, the project manager will contact the client to schedule a meeting to review the concern and discuss the options that exist to correct the problem. If the action to correct the problem requires a change order and an extra charge the project manager will provide a written change order to the clients and review it in detail. Once the client approves the change order, it will be processed so the work can be completed. Please be aware that no change order work will be completed until the client has signed and completed the change order. We want our clients to have a clear understanding of the finial invoice and the charges associated with it at all times.
Our normal work week is Monday Thru Friday. The site supervisor will be arriving around 7:30 am and start working within a few minutes of his arrival. We have a strict low-noise policy that our crew abides by, no loud power equipment will be used before 7:30 am unless permission is given from the client and surrounding property owner's. The normal project site daily hours are 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday Thru Thursday, and 7:30am to 12:00 noon on Fridays. Following common practice, our workers will take a lunch break and two 15 min breaks. Extra breaks will be approved by site supervisor on a needed basis when weather intervenes. Our on-site supervisors make sure that every hour is a productive hour.

Every Designer works differently. We are happy to work with you as a consultant and you can either use Marotte Landscape Design for the entire process or simply for consulting and advice, allowing you to make your own purchases.
We work with many different styles and prefer to help each client create their own signature style. Although styles vary, the common thread through all our projects is a clean, uncluttered look.
Architects and Landscape Designers work very differently.
Most Architects work with structure and building design and prefer not to work with details of the landscape, such as outdoor kitchens, patios, arbors, outdoor furniture, fountains, ponds, waterfalls, or retaining walls.
Designers can create a master plan for your entire property, which can be implemented in stages, as your budget allows.
In many cases, Marotte Design has designed and built auxilliary structures that complete the landscape such as garages, pool houses, screen houses, garden houses, etc as well as major and minor remodeling of the primary residence. We are eager to assit you in achieving the home of your dreams—with style.
When a homeowner invests in our creative services, they receive the benefits of thirty years' experience in design and construction, including the advantage of being able to purchase the best products on the market at the best prices.
What happens next? When our clients enlist our design expertise, we set up a meeting in their home to begin the process. Here is what to expect:
